For women travelling solo: The gym picks favour organised facilities, classes, changing space and clear visitor access. Most are mixed gyms. Specific women’s programmes are highlighted where published; comfort and staff support should still be checked during a first visit.
1.Canggu, Bali, Indonesia
Canggu is a strong choice for a varied fitness routine: strength training, Pilates, yoga, padel and recovery facilities are all easy to find. Many clubs offer short passes and coached classes, so you can try different forms of exercise before settling into a regular programme. Choose a base near your main gym to make daily training easier.
Your gym: Avenue Fitness
Avenue Fitness is the value pick for an attractive all-round club: IDR 1,000,000 for seven consecutive days or IDR 1,800,000 for one month, including the listed tax and service charge. The all-facilities pass covers the gym, classes, recovery and access to the Rimbun Hotel pool. Its timetable includes mat Pilates and a women-focused dance class.
Body Factory Bali is the upgrade: Silver starts at IDR 2,490,000++ for four weeks for training and classes. Check additional charges and recovery access before comparing it with Avenue Fitness.
Massage worth booking
Goldust Spa offers a 60-minute relaxation massage for IDR 320,000++; the menu adds 5% service and 15% government tax. It is a polished option for a regular treat, with 4.8/5 on Tripadvisor.
Yoga & Pilates
Use Avenue Fitness’ mat Pilates classes to keep costs down. Samadi is a good separate yoga base, with Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin. Its published regular visitor drop-in is IDR 155,000; resident rates have different eligibility rules.
Meditation & deeper retreats
Samadi also lists meditation and workshops. For residential Vipassana, Dhamma Geha is in Susut, Bangli. Plan a dedicated transfer and time away from work.
Sport & group training
Join the Avenue Running Club community or book a social game through Jungle Padel. Running and padel add outdoor exercise and group activity to your training week.
Make it efficient: Choose accommodation close to your main gym. Traffic can turn a short distance into a daily inconvenience.
2.Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
Ubud is especially appealing for yoga, meditation and sound sessions, with enough gym access to keep strength training in your routine. You can combine active classes with quieter practices without booking a full retreat. Staying close to your preferred studio leaves more time for exercise and rest.
Your gym: Ubud.Fitness
Ubud.Fitness publishes IDR 750,000 for seven days or IDR 1,850,000 for one month for unlimited classes and open gym. Gym-only access is cheaper: IDR 550,000 weekly or IDR 1,200,000 monthly. Passes run on consecutive days; gym-only access is outdoor-only during class hours. The coached format is useful if you prefer guidance and a small-group instruction to training alone.
Massage worth booking
Karsa Spa combines a garden setting with sensible prices: IDR 240,000 for a 60-minute Balinese massage or IDR 260,000 for deep tissue, plus the published 15% tax and service charge. It has 4.8/5 on Tripadvisor. Book ahead.

Meditation & sound
Pyramids of Chi specialises in sound experiences and also offers guided meditation. For traditional residential Vipassana, Dhamma Geha in Bangli is the regional option.
Sport & group training
Jungle Padel’s Ubud club has a community for finding games and partners. Combine that with coached sessions at Ubud.Fitness if you want an active week with a balance of strength, movement and court sport.
Make it efficient: Ubud works best when you choose a few repeat activities. Paying for several unlimited studio memberships quickly removes its budget advantage.
3.Chiang Mai, Thailand

4.Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok offers a broad choice of strength training, reformer Pilates, yoga and professional massage. It is particularly useful if you want structured classes alongside a conventional gym membership. Keep your regular venues near the same BTS or MRT route so travel does not crowd out recovery time.
Your gym: Jetts 24 Hour Fitness
Jetts 24 Hour Fitness’ visitor passes cost 1,500 THB (about US$45) for seven days or 2,500 THB (about US$74) for 30 days. They cover the purchased home club and its classes, with modern equipment and an organised club environment. Visitor access is during staffed hours, despite the chain’s 24-hour branding. Confirm that your chosen club accepts this pass, especially for Jetts Black locations.
Massage worth booking
Perception Blind Massage lists a 60-minute Thai massage at 450 THB (about US$13). Its Sathorn branch has 4.7/5 on Tripadvisor. The clear menu and professional setting make it a strong regular option.
Yoga & Pilates

Meditation & Vipassana
Bangkok Shambhala lists regular meditation classes. Dhamma Dhānī is within greater Bangkok, but currently cannot accommodate non-Thai-speaking students. English speakers should choose an eligible course elsewhere from the official directory.
Sport & outdoor movement
DD Fitness in Ari is another local club to explore for group training, with BodyCombat, BodyPump, Zumba and yoga on its programme. Early walks in Lumphini or Benjakitti add inexpensive outdoor time.
Late-night option: Health Land Asoke is open until 11pm, rather than 24 hours. Its published two-hour Thai massage costs 700 THB (about US$21). Branch details · Menu.
5.Phuket, Thailand

Alpha Health Club in Phuket Town lists a gym-only week at 1,200 THB (about US$36) and a standard month at 2,700 THB (about US$80). A weekly gym-and-pool pass is 1,600 THB (about US$48); confirm class and recovery inclusions for your plan.
Massage worth booking

Sport & group training

Da Nang offers an affordable combination of gym training, yoga, Pilates, massage and beach-based activity. It suits anyone who wants a simple routine they can maintain over several weeks. Choose a comfortable gym and a nearby studio, then add surfing when conditions are suitable.

HD Fitness offers weights and group training across several branches. Visitor guides report approximately VND 500,000–700,000 for a week and VND 1,400,000–2,000,000 for a month, depending on the branch. Massage worth booking
Herbal Spa lists its gentler Herbal Aroma Journey from VND 630,000, rather than the much more expensive multi-therapist treatments. The Da Nang listing has 4.9/5 on Tripadvisor. Confirm duration and the final total when reserving.
Yoga & Pilates
Da Nang Wellness is a bilingual, family-run yoga option near the beach. Terra Balance, 59 Le Loi, offers mat and reformer Pilates as well as yoga.
Meditation & sound
Da Nang Wellness also offers sound sessions. For Goenka Vipassana, check the official Vietnam schedule: currently only the Thu Duc course site accepts non-Vietnamese citizens. That means a separate trip to the Ho Chi Minh City area.
Sport & group training
Book surfing through Da Nang Wellness for instruction and a social activity. Conditions vary by season; check the day’s suitability rather than assuming every beach day is a surf day.
Price check: HD rates above are visitor reports, not a current official tariff. Branch comparisons · Visitor pass listings. Confirm air-conditioning and class access at the exact club.
7.Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Massage worth booking
Miu Miu Spa is an established option with 4.4/5 for Spa 1 on Tripadvisor. A booking platform lists Spa 2’s 60-minute signature aroma massage at VND 550,000. Check the branch and booking total rather than relying on older VND 450,000 reviews.

Sport & group training
Saigon Sports Club in District 7 offers boxing, Muay Thai and other combat sports, including a published MMA for Ladies programme. It is a useful option for women who want coached combat-sport training.
Before booking: Gym One’s week price is from a visitor directory; Miu Miu Spa 2’s price is from Mamap. Miu Miu’s official site currently marks branches 4 and 5 temporarily closed.

The Flow Studio is a strong aesthetic pick, offering yoga, mat Pilates and reformer sessions across several locations. Use a trial or small pack before deciding which studio best fits your daily route.
Meditation & Vipassana
Kechara Forest Retreat in Bentong offers meditation programmes outside the city. Dhamma Malaya near Gambang is the Goenka Vipassana option, approximately three hours’ drive from KL according to the organisers.
Sport & group training
The Flow Studio advertises a Flow Run Club and community events. Peak Fitness’ spinning and group suspension classes give you another regular group activity without adding a second gym membership.
Make it efficient: The RM75 massage figure is a visitor report, not a live tariff. For a more polished studio routine, spend on Pilates and keep regular massage simple.
9.Taipei, Taiwan
Taipei offers strength training, yoga, Pilates and public sports facilities, with massage available late into the evening. Swimming and court sports provide alternatives to a conventional gym workout. Da’an and Zhongshan are useful areas for keeping several wellness activities within reach.

A local directory lists an introductory full-day subscription at NT$1,200 per month plus NT$500 initial setup. Confirm renewal and cancellation rules before using it for a single month. Meditation & Vipassana
Dhammodaya in Xinshe, Taichung, is a regional residential Vipassana option. It is outside Taipei and requires a separate journey; select a course with a language you understand.
Sport & group training
Da’an Sports Center has swimming, badminton, squash and other facilities. Book courts in advance and check the current class enrolment rules rather than assuming casual entry covers every activity.
Genuinely open around the clock: The Anhe massage branch publishes 24-hour opening. This is a massage venue, rather than a full overnight bathhouse resort.
10.Shenzhen, China
Shenzhen stands out for its bathhouses and spa facilities, alongside modern gyms and pay-per-session exercise classes. You can combine strength training with bathing, massage and quieter relaxation sessions. Compare spa packages carefully, as admission, treatments and overnight access may be charged separately.
Your gym: 24/7 FITNESS
24/7 FITNESS publishes CNY888 for a one-month mainland-China membership, with no enrolment fee or deposit. Its clean, modern club format is a straightforward alternative to negotiating a long gym contract. Before payment, confirm the Shenzhen branch, passport registration, app access and renewal terms. This is a flexible mid-range choice, rather than the cheapest local gym.
Massage worth booking
SongChill / Songchi at One Avenue has 4.8/5 on Klook, with booking prices displayed from approximately US$49 for selected treatments. It is a quieter, private-room alternative to a large bathhouse. Select the actual massage package before treating the starting price as your total.
Yoga, Pilates & sport
SUPERMONKEY offers pay-per-session training, including yoga, Pilates, boxing and dance. That format is useful for testing classes without an annual contract. Confirm the Shenzhen studio, booking app and instruction language.
Sound & meditation
SongChill / Songchi lists a singing-bowl massage experience. For a full Goenka Vipassana course, Dhamma Muttā on Hong Kong’s Lantau Island is a regional option, with a border crossing and separate entry requirements.
The 24-hour spa option
TENZ / Tangqi near Futian Port has 4.5/5 on Klook and 24-hour bath-and-massage packages. A guide lists admission at CNY300 for eight hours or CNY380 for 24 hours, with massage from CNY180 extra. Compare the complete package, meals, overnight arrangements and treatment charges.
Plan your recovery time: Compare the treatment duration, quiet areas and bathing facilities before booking a spa package. Bathhouse admission does not automatically include massage or a private overnight room. TENZ guide prices.
11.Hong Kong

Your gym: The Vault Fitness
The Vault Fitness in Sheung Wan offers a well-equipped training space, spacious changing facilities and a published women’s health programme. Visitor directories quote HK$599 for seven days and HK$350 for a day. The weekly rate is reasonable by Hong Kong short-stay standards, but classes are extra. Confirm the live week-pass price directly.
Massage worth booking
Zenjoy Massage in Wan Chai has an aggregated Google rating of 4.7/5. A 2024 visitor reported HK$308 for a 60-minute treatment; use that as a reference and ask for the current menu. It is a small, practical studio rather than a hotel spa.

Sport & outdoor movement
The Vault Fitness’ coached groups provide structure for regular training. Add a weekend hike for lower-cost outdoor time, choosing a route, weather forecast and company suitable for your experience.
Budget strategy: Buy the week pass rather than repeated day entries. Visitor pass source · Class and pass details. Shenzhen is the stronger nearby choice for a large overnight spa experience.
12.Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon has independent yoga and Pilates studios, coached training clubs and regular meditation events. It is a good fit for a class-based routine, with smaller studios offering an alternative to large gyms. Massage costs more than in much of Southeast Asia, so compare treatment menus before booking.
Your gym: BE WATER Lisboa
BE WATER in Campo Grande offers an unlimited seven-day visitor pass for €50, covering its disciplines and open gym. A drop-in class is €15. It is a coached functional-training and martial-arts club, rather than a spa gym, and a useful choice for travellers who value instruction and community. Try a session before buying the week.
Massage worth booking
Thai Sensation has convenient city branches and 4.3/5 on its Tripadvisor listing. A solo woman traveller reported €40 for an hour in April 2024. Confirm today’s branch price and request the pressure you prefer.
Yoga & Pilates
Mrs. Lemon combines yoga and Pilates with an independent café. Little Yoga Space in Baixa is another approachable option for smaller classes and community events.
Meditation & sound
Little Yoga Space lists €25 sound baths and a free monthly body-neutral women’s circle. For Vipassana, Portugal’s scheduled courses in Rogil require a separate trip to the Algarve.
Sport & group training
BE WATER’s martial-arts and functional sessions provide regular coached practice. Pick a beginner-appropriate class and check whether equipment is supplied or needs to be brought.
Make it efficient: A class-focused club is good value if you attend regularly. If you only want weights, compare a nearby gym-only pass before paying for the wider programme.
13.Mexico City, Mexico
Mexico City offers a wide choice of strength training, Pilates, yoga and meditation. Roma Norte and Condesa are useful bases for combining several studios without travelling far between classes. Choose quiet accommodation if sleep and recovery are priorities alongside an active training schedule.

Fitness Republic publishes MXN999 for seven consecutive days or MXN1,950 for a month, with no joining fee. Its calisthenics routines are adapted to ability, and the membership includes gym access and coaching. Massage worth booking

Yoga & Pilates
Ponte Pila in Roma Norte offers reformer, mat, barre and sculpt, with classes advertised from MXN300. Ātma is a yoga option with English, Spanish and bilingual formats.
Meditation & Vipassana
Ātma also advertises meditation, sound and monthly gatherings. Dhamma Makaranda near Valle de Bravo offers residential Vipassana west of the capital; allow a dedicated transfer and confirm the course language.
Sport & group training
Fitness Republic’s coached calisthenics is the sporting community pick. For variety, Metabolic lists strength, HYROX, barre and dance classes; compare a small pack with an unlimited membership.
Make it efficient: Keep your gym, studio and accommodation within the same neighbourhood. The MXN699 massage offer appears in venue promotional material; reconfirm rather than assuming it is a permanent tariff.

Massage worth booking
IVY Wellness in Laureles publishes COP200,000 for a one-hour massage and COP280,000 for 90 minutes. It has 5/5 on Tripadvisor from 13 reviews. The small review count is worth keeping in perspective.
Yoga & Pilates
Unity Yoga offers yoga and meditation. For a separate reformer studio, Aliva in El Poblado advertises classes with a maximum of five participants; ask about a short pack.
Meditation & Vipassana
Unity Yoga offers a city-based option for meditation. Dhamma Gutti runs residential Vipassana at Guarne and San Antonio de Pereira sites outside Medellín. Check the campus, date and English/Spanish arrangements before booking transport.
Sport & group training
CREW’s boxing, HYROX and cycling sessions offer a regular coached community. Start with the day pass to assess the atmosphere, staff support and class level before paying for the month.
Make it efficient: The cheaper advertised CREW tiers use automatic debit or eligibility conditions. Compare the actual short-stay total and class coverage, rather than just the lowest monthly headline.
15.Tbilisi, Georgia
Tbilisi offers modern gyms, independent yoga studios and traditional sulphur baths. Vake and Saburtalo are practical bases for combining strength training with yoga and meditation. Check the specific facilities included in a gym pass, especially if Pilates or sauna access matters to your routine.
Your gym: Oktopus
Oktopus lists GEL225 for one month at its Vake/Ramishvili and Sandro Euli tier. Modern equipment, studios, towel service and sauna facilities make it a comfortable all-rounder. City Mall/Mziuri access is GEL315 monthly, with reformer studios listed; check whether reformer sessions cost extra. Standard group workouts are included according to its FAQ.
Massage worth booking
Prime Thai Spa & Massage publishes GEL90 for 60 minutes and GEL130 for 90 minutes. Its Tripadvisor listing scores 5/5 from four reviews. Confirm the treatment type and final price directly.
Yoga & Pilates
Tbilisi Yoga Community has English-speaking yoga at its Vake and Saburtalo studios. Pair that with Oktopus’ Pilates options if you want both practices without travelling across the city.
Meditation & Vipassana
Tbilisi Yoga Community also lists meditation and breathwork. Vipassana Georgia organises non-centre courses rather than a permanent city retreat centre. Verify current dates and the actual venue; do not assume year-round availability.
Sport & group training
Oktopus’ spinning and group workouts give you regular group training. The Georgian Climbing National Federation is another place to enquire about local climbing facilities and sessions.
Bathhouse extra: Add a sulphur-bath visit as a separate experience. Ask about a private room, changing arrangements, cleaning and scrub charges before booking; bath entry and massage are different services.
For an accessible city routine, start with a gym pass, one weekly class and an occasional massage. A residential meditation course needs a different kind of planning.
| Your base | Retreat option | What to know |

| Chiang Mai | Wat Ram Poeng | Temple Vipassana; contact the foreigner office for the programme. |

| Taipei | Dhammodaya, Taichung | Outside Taipei; check language and transfer arrangements. |
| Hong Kong / Shenzhen | Dhamma Muttā, Lantau | Residential; Shenzhen visitors also need cross-border entry eligibility. |
| Mexico City | Dhamma Makaranda | Near Valle de Bravo, west of the capital. |
| Medellín | Dhamma Gutti | Guarne and San Antonio campuses; check which venue your course uses. |
Before applying: Goenka introductory courses generally require a full ten-day residential commitment, silence and no work or device use. They are donation-supported, with advance application and acceptance required. Short courses often require prior completion of a ten-day course. Read the official code of discipline and the exact course schedule.
Build a Routine You Can Actually Keep
A wellness routine is easier to maintain when the activities you enjoy are close by. Choose a gym you feel comfortable using, a class suited to your level and a massage venue you trust. Leave room for sleep and rest rather than filling every day with sessions.
For the best balance of value and choice, start with Canggu, Ubud, Chiang Mai or Da Nang. Choose Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur for city convenience. Choose Taipei for late-night massage or Shenzhen for a longer bathhouse and spa visit.
